Our Pediatric Effective Elimination Program is well known and very respected throughout the nation and internationally for its success in helping children with pooping and peeing problems. The first priority is to be certain that there is no physical problem for the issues, (usually there are none).

The therapy is then individualized for each child and their family. For most children, a functional and behavioral modification program can be tailored for them that will help with the problems. This is in no way meant to imply that the issue is a behavior problem, but rather to refer to the behavior of the bowel and bladder systems that need to be retrained. Nearly all children with these issues cannot control the problem, choose to stop the problem or make it better without retraining the bowel and bladder. Typically, no medications or invasive, painful tests are indicated to be used in the treatment plan. But if these are necessary, they will be ordered, planned, coordinated and interpreted, with appropriate follow up and referrals for structural issues.

• Constipation and encopresis
• Urinary hesitancy
• Urinary frequency
• Painful and/or difficult urination

Our Goals:
With the vast majority of patients, the problem will be "functional" and retraining will be the indicated treatment. In this scenario, if the kids and their families are very careful about doing the program consistently, most problems improve significantly within the first 4-6 weeks of treatment! The exception to this is night wetting which takes longer to show improvement, about 4-6 months, but consistent work will get kids dry at night as well. Many families have tried numerous therapies and report that finding this program was the turning point for their child as it works so well.
